Prague

The capital city of the Czech Republic, Prague, is situated on the River Vltava in the heart of Europe. It’s a beautiful city with a broad range of architecture, ranging from Baroque palaces and Gothic churches to Art Nouveau cafés and buildings. Prague has a medieval center of winding cobblestone streets in which you can discover palaces, churches, museums, squares and pubs/bars. Since 1989, and the fall of Communism in Central and Eastern Europe, millions of tourists have flocked to the Czech Republic. Enchanted by the romantic charm of the city's Old Town, Prague has become one of the world's most popular destinations.

Getting Around Prague

Prague has one of the best public transportation systems in Europe. The metro, trams and buses are used by 2/3 of Prague's population and cover the majority of the city and outskirts. To get around town, we highly recommend using public transport over driving or taking a taxi.

  • Trams – The tram network is fast, frequent and a fun way to get around. All trams operate between 4.30am and midnight, with eight night routes (#51-58) covering the city's most populated areas from 12am-4.30am.
  • Buses - operating hours for bus routes are the same as the trams. After midnight, twelve night buses (#501-512) run on routes not covered by Prague's trams.
  • Metro - Prague has three metro lines which provide a fast, regular service using Russian built trains (running from 5am to midnight).
