Application Process
Entry Requirements
We require our teaching staff to be formally teacher trained or to at least have a pedagogical background. If you do not currently have a TEFL certificate or lack any pedagogical training, you may wish to consider attending our in-school TEFL course.
Standard requirements are a university degree course that includes:
- Training in modern methodology
- Training in “language awareness” (including English grammar)
- Actual teaching practice with real learners (not just “peer teaching” of other course trainees)
- Observations of experienced teachers
We will also consider applications from teachers who have had at least one year’s experience as an EFL teacher but are not formally trained teachers.
How To Apply
If you are interested in teaching for our school, please, send us your CV and cover letter in English or Czech via email jobs@caledonianschool.com.
Once we receive your application and resume, our HR Department will consider them. We will then send you the result as soon as possible. If you do not hear from us within 14 days, please first check your \'spam\' or \'bulk\' email folders before getting back into contact with us. When invited for an in-person or Skype interview with one on our Academic Team Leaders, we will ask you to prepare sample lesson plan reflecting your teaching approach.
Assuming that your interview is successful and that we make you a job offer, then we will arrange your start date, invite you to an orientation meeting and discuss the terms of your contract. The orientation meeting is designed to help you to adjust to your new job and meet everybody here in Caledonian.
Please be aware that we will need to collect copies of the following documents if held:
- TEFL/Celta/Trinity certificate
- Degree certificate or transcripts
- Passport
- Photo
