Kamila Dolejší - Director of TEFL Studies
Kamila graduated from Simon Fraser University, Vancouver, in 2004 with a major in Linguistics and a minor in Latin American Studies and Spanish, as well as a TESL certification. She has taught English, both in Vancouver and Prague, for 5 years. She joined the Caledonian staff in 2005, teaching English and Czech for Foreigners, and she has been a Senior Teacher since 2007. Kamila holds the Cambridge DELTA Certificate.
Paul Michel - Primary Trainer
Paul has earned a Master of Science in Education degree from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and a Master Tutor (ESL) certificate. He has been involved in ESL/EFL education for more than ten years as a teacher, teacher trainer and school administrator. Paul is a certified Cambridge (ESOL) oral examiner. He was instrumental in bringing a professional, modern, student-centered, communicative approach to language education to the Caledonian School.
Andrea Downing - Primary Trainer
Andrea trained as an EFL teacher in 1998 and has since taught in countries as diverse as Oman, Lebanon, Estonia, Brazil and China. She has also worked in language school and university academic management in Europe and further afield, as well as working in teacher training and development for the previous three years. She gained the Cambridge DELTA Certificate in August 2007. Andrea is also a certified Cambridge (ESOL) oral examiner. Outside of work, she loves cooking and sailing, but not necessarily at the same time.
In addition to our course trainers, members of our senior ELT staff serve in advisory capacity and/or contribute to our workshops related to teaching Business English and/or serve as experienced teachers whose lessons trainees observe while attending the TEFL course.
Jon Edward Webb - Advisor
Jon has earned a B.A in English and French from Durham University in England. He has taught English as a foreign language in Estonia, Germany, Turkey and the Czech Republic. He has held various senior management positions and has co-authored books on grammar and phonology. He has presented teacher development sessions on a range of topics including phonology, testing and classroom management. Jon was awarded a Trinity College London Diploma in TESOL in 2003.
Claire Giffen - Business Seminars Trainer
Claire attended the University of Warwick and gained an Honours Degree in History. She then joined an Insurance Brokers and worked as a Broker at Lloyd's of London for five years. She arrived in the Czech Republic in 1998 after obtaining her TEFL certificate and has taught for Caledonian School since then. She oversaw our Business Department and was responsible for training and advising our Business teachers. She now runs our Business Seminars program for Caledonian Training, part of Caledonian School Education Group. Seminars include Effective Presentations, Effective Negotiations, Effective Meetings, and Business Writing Skills. Claire is also a certified Cambridge University Oral Examiner for both the Cambridge Business English Certificate, and the Cambridge First Certificate of English.
