Teachers of Czech for Foreginers at the Caledonian School

Teachers - Czech for Foreigners

All of our teachers have completed their university education (Charles University in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, Palacky University in Olomouc) in pedagogical fields with the most common majors being Teaching Czech and another foreign language (German, English or French). This means our teachers can teach and have learnt a foreign language so they know first-hand how difficult it can be.

Our teachers also all undergo a challenging recruitment process in which they show both their theoretical knowledge and practical skills. Part of our continuing teacher-training program at the Caledonian School includes various workshops and presentations designed especially for the teachers of Czech for Foreigners. In these sessions, teachers have a chance to learn about the latest innovations in teaching methods, strategies and course materials.

Each teacher’s work is monitored by the Senior teacher for Czech, who observes every teacher at least once a year. This means that the Senior teacher attends a class and then analyzes it together with the teacher. At the end of each course, students fill in feedback questionnaires concerning the quality of instruction and their overall satisfaction. These questionnaires are processed, and their results serve as the basis for further improvement of the courses we teach.
