Terms of Studies

  • The Ministry of Education (MŠMT ČR) considers a one-year course in foreign languages with daily classes (min. of 20 lessons per week ) to be an extension of secondary school education provided that the students have passed their final secondary school exams in the same calendar year. Only if this condition is fulfilled will the students' parents be entitled to receive financial contribution from the state.
  • Anyone interested in intensive studies in a language course can enrol in post-secondary studies. However, student benefits connected with the notice of the Ministry of Education apply only to the students mentioned above.
  • At the time of enrolment it is necessary to pay a cash deposit of CZK 5 000, an amount which will be deducted from the total price. The deposit can be returned only if the student is accepted to a full-time program at a university and presents a letter of acceptance from the dean of the faculty.
  • The Caledonian School permits the course fee to be paid in two instalments, in which case the total price will be increased by 5 %. The first instalment is due either within one month of the day of enrolment, or by the beginning of the course at the latest. The second instalment is due by December 31, 2009.

Caledonian School will grant the following discounts in the fee for the post-secondary studies:

  • 10 % discount from the course fee will be given if the total price is paid by June 30, 2009.
  • 5% discount from the course fee will be given to students in their second year of studying a post-secondary course at the Caledonian School
  • It is not possible to receive both discounts.

  • The course fee can be paid by cash or credit card at the Caledonian School's cash desk, by invoice (inform us in advance), or by bank transfer to the regular account of Unicredit Bank Czech Republic a.s.,  account number 5772 - 042 / 2700. State your registration number as a "variable symbol". If you were issued with an invoice, state the invoice number (also applies when paying by cash or credit card).
  • Post-secondary studies of English can be completed by taking international language exams. Registration fee for these exams is payable directly to the British Council in Prague and it is due in March 2010. Payments for international exams in other languages are also due in March 2010.
  • TOEIC and LTE exams will be organized by the Caledonian School. Exact dates will be announced in the course of the school year.

If the student decides to quit the course, the course fee will be returned only in cases where the student has been accepted to a university.
